Black Tie Guys Learn Business

Black Tie Guys Learn Business

The Black Tie Guys learned about business in the month of September. In our meetings we learned how to count money, watched videos about youth who made money in different kinds of businesses, and learned about making a business plan.

We had speakers who talked to us about their businesses that they started when they were part of the Black Tie Guy program including: Stepheun Nash, who owns a computer company; Kita Wright, who owns Pro Works Productions which is a video company, and Roosevelt Wright, III, who is a graphic designer and freelance web designer.

We capped off our learning when eight of our members received $100 loans to open their own businesses. One used his money to buy a rake and garbage bags to start and leaf raking business. Another used his money to buy supplies to start an auto detail business. The others started candy sales businesses.
